It is a fixed-term contract (24 months) with possible extensions.

Your Tasks

  • Design and build data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing data efficiently from various internal and external sources
  • Ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of data platforms, focusing on optimizing infrastructure and workflows
  • Collaborate with different teams to integrate data from multiple systems and ensure smooth data flow across platforms
  • Select and implement appropriate storage solutions, such as data lakes or cloud-based databases, to support organizational needs
  • Implement data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with data privacy regulations like GDPR or CCPA
  • Work with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver technical solutions accordingly
  • Track and resolve issues in data systems, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and effective backups
  • Support the organization’s digital transformation efforts by enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, and other data-driven initiatives

Your Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in data platform engineering, working with large-scale, complex data systems
  • Strong expertise with the Microsoft Data Stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database
  • Proficiency in building and optimizing data pipelines and workflows using ETL tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms and architecture, specifically Azure, with experience in networking principles
  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages for automation and data processing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, especially using Azure DevOps
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance with regulations like GDPR or CCPA
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the humanitarian or international development sector
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning applications
